Ahmedabad adopts green methods to reduce energy consumption
In order to reduce the \"soaring\" electricity bill, Ahmedabad municipal decided to use green and energy
Efficient technology that reduces power consumption by nearly 35.
AMC decided to build all the new projects into green buildings, convert its main energy consumption mechanism to solar energy, and convert all city street lights from high-pressure sodium steam lamps to energy-saving LED lights.
\"In this fiscal year, AMC paid a total of Rs 149.
\"Electricity bills account for about five of our total budget,\" said municipal commissioner Guruprasad Mahapatra . \".
Thanks to the rapid industrialisation of Gujarat, the city is getting wider and has recently increased, with AMC now having 464.
It covers an area of 16 square kilometers and has a population of 45 people.
\"Controlling high energy consumption is a challenge for the management of any city in India, and we have decided to accept this challenge.
\"If we can control consumption at the current level, that\'s also an achievement,\" he said . \".
\"AMC\'s spending on energy consumption is soaring every year.
Such a high fee is due to the distribution of drinking water provided to street lights, such a large population and drainage network throughout the city.
Therefore, we decided to establish a dedicated energy saving and savings unit in AMC, which will find ways and means to save energy consumption to reduce expenses.
\"We have decided that all of our new buildings will be designed as green buildings from now on.
\"We have created the conditions for the construction of the medical center and school buildings that we will be carrying out next year,\" Mahapatra said . \".
\"Green buildings will save a lot of energy,\" he asserted . \"
\"We also decided
Traditional energy sources such as solar energy should be used to the maximum extent.
Our upcoming ultra-
The modern sports complex in the city\'s Memco area will be driven entirely by solar energy, \"said Mahapatra.
\"After success, we will convert our two institutions --
Sardar varabhai Patel cricket stadium and AMC headquarters in danapis-
Solar Buildings, \"he said.
\"In the next fiscal year, we plan to change all street lights in the West and New West districts of the city from the current LED lights to LED lights at a cost of Rs 5.
\"We will discuss other areas later,\" he added . \".
\"We also plan to replace old pumps and drain pumps with new energy-saving pumps, which will also save a lot of energy,\" he said . \".
The Municipal Commissioner hopes that, thanks to these initiatives, they will be able to reduce their energy consumption by 35.
